Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The work is original, has not been previously published, and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  • Any overlapping or related work under review or published elsewhere is clearly disclosed in the cover letter.
  • The manuscript is provided in either PDF, Microsoft Word, or TeX/LaTeX format for the initial submission.
  • All figures, tables, and extended data items are placed where they are first cited or uploaded as separate files.
  • References follow the superscript Vancouver style and each citation in the text appears in the reference list.
  • Where available, DOIs or URLs for references have been provided.
  • The manuscript complies with the word limits and structure for the chosen article type (e.g., Research Article, Brief Report, Review, Theory, Methodological Tutorial, Perspectives, or Correspondence).
  • The abstract meets the specific requirements for its article type (word limit, unstructured format, etc.).
  • Any AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) used for text or figure generation are appropriately acknowledged, and the authors take full responsibility for the content.
  • A dedicated “Statements and Declarations” section appears at the end of the manuscript, covering Ethical Considerations, Consent to Participate, Consent for Publication (if applicable), Declaration of Conflicting Interest, Funding Statement, Data Availability, and Acknowledgments.
  • Author roles (e.g., Conceptualization, Methodology, Investigation, Writing—original draft, Writing—review & editing, etc.) are clearly listed at the end of the manuscript in the “Statements and Declarations” section using the CReDIT Taxonomy.
  • All ethical approvals (e.g., IRB) and consent details are included in the Methods section (if human subjects are involved) and summarized in the “Statements and Declarations” section.
  • Any supporting data, code, or materials are either publicly available or a statement is provided explaining why sharing is not possible.
  • A cover letter addresses the significance of the work, its relevance to Computational Psychology, any prior editorial communication, and recommended or excluded reviewers (optional).
  • The manuscript file has been fully anonymized. All author-identifying details (names, affiliations, acknowledgments, etc.) have been removed or replaced in both the text and file properties.
  • A dedicated title page is provided as a separate file, containing all author information (names, affiliations, contact details), clearly labeled for editorial use.
  • The manuscript adheres to all technical, ethical, and format requirements in the Author Guidelines.
  • Any required permissions for reproduced figures or tables are obtained and documented.
